Rick and Morty Season 3 Overview:

Rick and Morty's third season of the American animated television series Rick and Morty, created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, originally aired on Cartoon Network’s late-night programming block, Adult Swim. It first premiered on April 1, 2017, with "The Rickshank Redemption," which aired unannounced as part of Adult Swim's annual April Fool's Day. As a result of production delays, weekly airing began on July 30, 2017, approximately four months after the remaining episodes. The season was ten episodes long but was initially supposed to be fourteen episodes and first began airing on October 1, 2017.

The premiere continued at the end of the second season as the show continued to follow the adventures of the Smith family members. The strength of their marriage is tested when Jerry asks Beth to choose between her and Rick. Beth begins to regain her independence as Jerry copes with the loss of his family. Morty and Summer deal with their parents’ separation to have more control over their lives. Rick’s nihilistic lifestyle continues to prevent him from connecting with his family because he cannot change his suicidal behaviour.

Main Cast:

• Justin Roiland as Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith, two of the main characters in the film; Rick is an eccentric mad scientist and Morty is a good-natured grandson who is an easy victim.
• Chris Parnell as Jerry Smith, Rick’s brother-in-law and Mortys’ father; A simple and insecure man who rejects the influence Rick has on his family
• Spencer Grammer as Summer Smith, Rick’s granddaughter and Morty’s sister; A traditional teenager who is anxious to stand out among her peers
• Sarah Chalke as Beth Smith, Rick’s daughter and Morty’s mother; an honest man, generally unhappy with his marriage

Season 3 Story Outline:

The third part of Rick and Morty also came with 10 more funny episodes and Rick and Morty continued where we left off. It seems that Rick is finally free, but he does gangster tricks when he discovers that they are used in the simulation. Morty and Summer come to her rescue. The two embark on a journey that reconciles the world with the aliens that live on their planet, and Rick still wants to argue about Sczechaun sauce (after visiting McDonald's to get the sauce in the dressing).

Summer takes part in other adventures of Rick and Morty in later episodes, including one in which they visit the home of model Mad Max and the siblings admit that their parents are divorcing. The next episode was about Rick pretending to be a pickle, Pickle pretending to be Rick - the funniest thing I've ever seen - and Rick and Beth getting closer to his divorce.

In the later episodes, Rick and Morty Winders "walk". Summer creeps in from the inside. Toxic Rick and Morty gain freedom and learn more about the fort and world that Riggs and Mortis live in, where Evil Morty runs for president. Next up is the "Cross-Dimensional Cable" episode where the couple recalls old memories after an argument - something that Summer pointed out probably happened when they first arrived.

The last two episodes involve Beth and Rick finding Beth's old friends in Frupland. Rick becomes a thorn in the side of the President of the United States as he constantly tries to defeat the President in solving the government's secrets. Eventually, the family decides to flee Rick to live a normal, peaceful life. (including Jerry), but when Rick meets them, he allows Jerry to return to the family. In the end, though, Rick was relieved that he was no longer the "head" of the family. Which shows how much Rick cares about his family even though he does not say so.
