Thor: Love and Thunder is a 2022 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Thor produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is a direct sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and is the 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Directed by Taika Waititi, who co-wrote Jennifer Katin Robinson, the film stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor alongside Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jamie Alexander, Waititi, Russell Crowe, and Natalie Portman. Hemsworth and Waititi discussed plans for a Ragnarok sequel in January 2018. July 6, 2022, and in Australia on July 7, 2022. In 4DX, RealD 3D, IMAX, ScreenX and Dolby Cinema, it was originally slated for a November 5, 2021 release, but was postponed to February 18, 2022, due to the pandemic.
